AUGUSTA - August Builders group seeks ouster of directors...

The Home Builders Association of Georgia on Thursday urged its members to call a special meeting to oust the directors of its workers' compensation fund, alleging the directors have funneled profits toward their own compensation.

LILBURN'S NEWEST ADDITION - Hindu Temple Set For Dedication

LILBURN - Lilburn has a new addition.   On Sat. August 26, the last additions to BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir were placed in position after having been carried in a parade on Highway 29. 

Many local residents watched as the parade passed. The temple is the 4th in the United States.  It is the largest traditional temple in the United States.  The architecture has fascinated many people in the area for the past few years.

BUFORD - After searching for two years, a Gwinnett County man learned that his two kidnapped children had been hidden by their mother in the Cayman Islands.

Jeff Weeks was awarded custody of his daughter and son, now 10 and 9 years old, in October 2000.
But the children were kidnapped by their mother and stepfather days after the court decision in a bitter custody battle.

Martha, still unable to return to work from nearly being beaten to death, has been fired from her job after many years of loyal service.  She now struggles to keep her utilities turned on, to keep food on her table and is doing all she can to avoid foreclosure.

BUFORD - One evening in February of this year,  there was an ominous knock upon the front door of Martha's peaceful, quiet home. 

"Hello, who is it?...  A woman's voice responded "I'm sorry to bother you at this late hour, but I seem to have accidentally backed into your car and I just wanted to exchange insurance information with you" replied the woman.
Just then, the door exploded into Martha's face - smashing her glasses into her eyes.  And that was just the beginning of a beating - which was a prelude to a robbery of the check cashing business where Martha had been a loyal employee for many years....

The Mortgage Bankers Association said Thursday that the percentage of mortgages in foreclosure hit a record high in the fourth quarter, while mortgage delinquencies reached the highest point in 23 years.
